Description

Adroit Economics, CPA and PRP have been awarded a research contract into standards relating to construction products testing. The research will be used to support the government’s new Construction Products Standards Committee, which will be established later this year. The research will examine the current testing regime for construction product performance, identify the risks within this regime, and conduct a gap analysis to identify where new or improved product standards may improve safety.

These workshops, which will be held over a number of sessions aimed at discussing a number of themes, will be aimed at CPA members and colleagues, standards and testing experts, and users of these test standards. The workshop will convene a community of experts who will provide insight into the standards that cover a wide range of construction products, particularly with regards to fire and structural safety.

We welcome all experts who have a keen understanding of these construction products, the relevant tests and standards for these products, and their wider implications of these testing regimes on the industry. Most of you will have been asked to fill out our Construction Products Testing Survey - your responses to the survey will help shape the themes that we will be covering in the online workshops, and bridge any knowledge gaps that are not covered by the survey results.

UPDATE (8 June 2020) - Ticket re-bookings are now closed. If you booked a holding ticket but have not managed to re-book, please send an email to m.ramos@prp-co.uk, stating your name, organisation and the sessions you would like to book, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

UPDATE (29 May 2020) - We have now identified the following groupings for the workshops. Each workshop will be structured around the same discussion points as the other workshops, but the groupings have been set up to place products that typically interact with each other in the same workshop group. Representatives from test houses, notified bodies, academia, and standards development are welcome to choose which group most closely reflects their area of expertise.

Please re-book a new ticket based on your chosen group (the holding bookings will be not be included in the attendance count so please ensure that you book a new ticket even if the original slot coincides with your workshop choice) Given the acceptances to our holding dates, we are anticipating a high demand for these workshops so could we ask each association to limit their final bookings to 2 experts per organisation, per session. Your assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
